Heavenly Hustlers
As Catholic entrepreneurs, finding others like us is tough. Heavenly Hustlers aims to help solve that. Here are some other Catholic entrepreneurs, what they are working on, and one to use as a role model.
CF Role Model:
📚 Steve Auth isn’t a traditional entrepreneur, but he’s definitely someone we should all look up to. Currently, he’s the Chief Investment Officer at Federated Hermes. He’s also published three books now (he just recently published his third on the Eucharist).
In his limited spare time, he runs unofficial tours at the MET Museum in NYC, where he takes people on a journey to find God through art.
Before this, he started yearly street missions surrounding Old St. Patrick’s Cathedral in NYC. During Holy Week & Advent, they strategically place people in a 2-3 block radius to invite them to the Church to say a prayer and light a candle. The real goal is to get them close to confession.
Here we have a shining example of someone who has reached the absolute top of the career ladder, but makes time to organize street evangelization. What’s your excuse?
I’ve had the great opportunity to spend some time with Steve, and I say with certainty, this man will be a saint one day.
You should check out his books. I’d start with The Missionary of Wall Street. While reading, I found myself crying on the subway more than once. It’s moving.
Other Heavenly Hustlers:

The Holy Spirit Calendar Method
If you’re into business, and go on the internet, it won’t belong before you’re suggested a plethora of productivity hacks. I can see the thumbnails now.
“How to manage your calendar like a millionare.” — “3 reasons why you need to wake up at 4 am.” — “The power of pouring hot coffee into your eyes.”
The advice never ends. But how often have you been told to ignore your calendar? Or to throw your day plan out the window?
Here’s the thing, the Holy Spirit knows better than us. Each morning, when we plan our day, there is a 0% chance that we know exactly what the Holy Spirit has in store for us.
That’s why we need to develop a Holy Spirit-aware mentality.
In essence, we must learn to tune into the moment. When we feel a moment to act, we must act. Be willing to abandon the next meeting if need be.
Sometimes, we need to be in the moment and take action on that feeling we have. That next meeting is not more important than the Holy Spirit’s call.
Here’s a hack for you. Don’t stack your schedule too tightly. Leave some space. This way, you won’t feel the pressure to keep chugging along if something comes up.
This space will help you recognize the Spirit’s tug. You can think of it this way—you’re leaving space for The Spirit to drop in.
Observing this practice will help you be more aware of God in your life. It’ll also help you recognize more seriously that your goal is to be a conduit of Jesus.
In summary:
Don’t assume the day you planned is the best day; The Spirit might have other plans.
Learn to observe the moment to notice the Spirit’s cues.
Acknowledge that, when the Spirit calls, we must answer.
Leave space in your calendar to help you achieve this alignment.
If you have any other ideas on how to do this or stories that came out of living like this, please share them in the comments.
God Bless & Happy Building
