Thanks for sharing! I have struggled with my view towards money as a Catholic business owner myself. I definitely want to grow more in generosity and not get caught up in the numbers. However, there is a very real sense in which money is needed in order to live. I can definitely say that while I love what I do as a Catholic business order, I struggle with realistically paying the bills. God bless!
One other example you can think about is St. Joachim. It's understood that he, from the earliest days of his life, dedicated 1/3 of his income to the Church.
This was even before he had achieved big success.
I think this 'giving before you have excess' mentality is what we should be doing.
I've also spent a lot of time thinking about 'providing a good life' for my family. It's a line people say, but I often wonder what is the ideal lifestyle we should pursue, because by the world's standards, it would be a lot more than I think Jesus would ask us to work towards.
Thank you for sharing! Those are all great insights for sure. I also think you are right in that the sort of lifestyle one desires is often more than needed to actually be happy and to serve Christ well.
"Once we recognize our purpose of life (to get to Heaven), and have figured out our purpose in life (marriage or religious life), we can then pursue our purpose in time (what we’re called to on earth, using the talents God gave us)."

Yeah, it can be a struggle.

Would love your thoughts.

I love this framework. Brilliant.
Glad it resonates! LMK if you think there is anything to this discussion that I missed.
