A Discussion on Time Management for Catholic Biz Owners: Daily Mass, Prayer, Spiritual Primacy, & Efficiency

Recording + Discussion Notes from our December 9th CF Guild Meeting (Paid Members Only)

On December 9th, we had a Catholic Founders Guild call on the topic of Time Management. We discussed a range of topics surrounding time management.

  • How to include spiritual practices in our daily life

  • How to figure out what to focus on

  • How to know when the Holy Spirit is calling us to divert from our schedule

  • Why the feeling of rush is not usually from God

  • Why optimizing everything to the nth degree is not likely the Catholic way

  • Some basic tenets of time management

Among other things.

Watch the recording above — or — browse the notes and key takeaways from the discussion below.

One-Liner Takeaway

For those who aren’t paid members yet, here’s the quick one-liner takeaway:

Living a rightly-ordered life, requires ALWAYS putting your spiritual life first and doing so will actually improve your time management and productivity.

Throughout the conversation, one key thing became apparent. Putting your spiritual life first will never detract from your goals. Considering our number one goal is to reach heaven, this is true.

But even more practically, if we are more closely united with God, through prayer, daily mass, the rosary (etc), we invite fully into our lives. This allows Him to guide us in every way. He could take people in and out of our lives as He desires. He could cause a meeting to be cancelled that wasn’t going to be fruitful.

When we have time for prayer, it can reduce our anxiety as well. This can help us be more productive. I personally have experienced this through going to daily mass in the middle of the day. The busiest days are the best days to keep the practice. Because when I do, my stress levels are lower afterwards, and then I end up being more productive.

Know that God will always — ALWAYS — reward you for putting your spiritual life first. Setting aside that time to be with Him is an act of trust. You’re telling Him that you trust in Him to provide and to make it all work out.

Again, a supreme act of His will over your own.

Alright, the rest of this session is exclusively for CF Guild members. If you’d like to join future calls, consider upgrading to a paid membership today.
