Today’s Show:
Andreas Widmer | The Catholic University of America | Prosper Podcast
Rebecca Teti | Ciocca Center for Principled Entrepreneurship
Today’s episode is my appearance on Prosper Podcast hosted by Andreas Widmer and Rebecca Teti to kick off their season five, “Yes, but how?”.
We get into my whole story, but the heart of this episode is the question we’re always peeling apart on this show: what does it actually mean to do Catholic entrepreneurship? Living your faith through how you run your business – how you treat the human being in front of you, and learning to resign to God’s will when the plan blows up.
We also talked about the interesting patterns I’ve seen in a year of interviewing Catholic founders and how they stand out in making their faith alive.
Core Lesson:
Work is a co-creative act ordered toward sanctification.
Regardless if you’re a religious, a layman, or leading multiple businesses, we are called to be creative and put our talents to use. It might be scary at first, but when we, entrepreneurs, surrender our illusion of control to God, and cooperate with His grace by answering the call of Divine Entrepreneurship, business becomes a primary vehicle for God’s providence and personal growth.
God Bless & Happy Building!
~Silas Mähner

“We have our first calling, which is our universal calling to holiness to get to heaven. Then we have our first vocation, our vocation to either the married life or the religious life. And then we have our secondary vocation, our vocation in the world, which is what are we called to do in our work?” — Silas Mähner
